PAUL McCARTNEY - MAYBE I'M AMAZED 1970
McCartney wrote the song in 1969, just after The Beatles' breakup. He credited his wife Linda with helping him get through the difficult time. This is one of the four songs that he wrote for her, the other three being "I Will", "The Lovely Linda" and "My Love".
The original studio version of the song ended with a fade instead of a full ending, but McCartney later composed an ending that can be heard on the live versions of the song. A live recording from the 1976 album Wings over America was released as a single by McCartney's band Wings on February 4, 1977 and became a top 10 hit in the United States. Versions of the song can be heard on several other live McCartney albums including Back in the U.S. and Back in the World. "Maybe I'm Amazed" has become a centrepiece of McCartney's concerts, along with "Band on the Run" and "Live and Let Die".
Regarded as one of McCartney's finest love songs, it achieved the #338 position in the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list compiled by Rolling Stone magazine in November 2004, and is the only solo McCartney song to make the list

Cuando Los Beatles se separaron en 1970, Paul cayó en una depresión que le llevó al alcohol y drogas duras como la heroína. Luego de sacar su primer disco solista (que había recibido muy malas críticas), su depresión empeoró. Mientras John Lennon gozaba de buenas críticas con su Plastic Ono Band, y George Harrison lanzaba su magnífico All Things Must Pass, Paul sentía que no se podía quedar así, por lo que comenzó a trabajar en su segundo LP, Ram.
Como fue reflejado en toda su trayectoria, especialmente al final de la era de Los Beatles, Paul y John siempre fueron unos rivales. Al principio, era una rivalidad muy sana y amistosa, pero al final de las cosas, el rencor comenzó a fluir. Luego de la separación de Los Beatles, ni si quiera se hablaban.
Ambos se expresaban ese rencor mutuo en su música. El primero fue Paul, con la canción "Too Many People", del disco Ram, en donde decía "...Muchas Personas para un Pedazo de Pastel...", queriendo reflejar claramente su antipatía hacia Yoko Ono, quien se había metido literalmente en la vida de Los Beatles: estaba en los ensayos, criticaba las canciones, etc. También dentro del disco Ram, se muestra una imagen de dos escarabajos (Beetle, haciedo alusión a los Beatles) fornicando, que simbolizaba cómo se sentía Paul en ese momento: "Que lo estaban jodiendo". I'm So Tired

"I'm So Tired" is a Beatles song from the double-disc album The Beatles (also known as The White Album).
It was primarily written by John Lennon, though credited to Lennon-McCartney. Lennon wrote the song at a Transcendental Meditation camp when he couldn't sleep. The Beatles had gone on a retreat to study with the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in Rishikesh, India. After three weeks of constant meditation and lectures, Lennon missed his soon-to-be wife, Yoko Ono, and wrote this song. The fact it was recorded at three in the morning enhances the sentiment.
The song also mentions famed English author and explorer Sir Walter Raleigh by name in an ironic context, calling him a "stupid git" for bringing the tobacco plant to England.
Recording
The song was recorded at Abbey Road on 8 October 1968 and was completed including all overdubs in this one session. The Beatles also started and completed the Lennon-composed 'The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill' during the same recording session.
Relation to the 'Paul is dead' Hoax
At the end of this song, mumbling can be heard that sounds like "Ssim mih, ssim mihm, ssim mih. Nam ded see lope." When played backwards, some claim a scared voice intones, "Paul is dead, man, miss him, miss him, MISS HIM!" although there have been other claims that on different versions of this song, Lennon can be heard mumbling the words "Monsieur, monsieur, monsieur, how about another one?" The mumbling may be Lennon's attempt at speaking in reverse, without physically reversing the sound.

Debíamos hacer una repartija de los cuatro y escribí el nombre de estos dos-los más populares-,en dos papelitos a sorteo.Él se puso contento ya que su favorito es John.Yo me puse contenta ya que, yendo tal vez contra la corriente de sus millones de fans, admiro y reconozco a John como "artista y músico", pero nunca me gustó como persona.Es más,me saca de quicio.Para mí,John vendría a ser el Maradona argentino, muy bueno en su profesión pero insoportable como ser humano.Tal vez sea el precio de la fama.Y bien,a mi estilo simple y espontáneo, confieso que John Lennon me parecía un arrogante,autoritario,egocéntrico y bastante disfrazado en su personaje de trasgresor y excentrico.Todo el mundo piensa que The Beatles es John Lennon.Para mí,the Beatles eran John/Paul-Paul/John- y que Lennon perduró como mito-además de su brillante e indudable carrera-, por haber muerto joven y asesinado.

Debido a un acuerdo entre McCartney y Lennon, todas las canciones del grupo compuestas por cualquiera de ellos aparecen firmadas como Lennon-McCartney. Sin bien las primeras composiciones son fruto de una colaboración real entre los dos músicos, en las canciones que aparecieron aproximadamente a partir de 1965 era más habitual que cada uno escribiese por separado. A través de las numerosas declaraciones de ambos hay un amplio consenso acerca del grado de autoría de cada uno de los compositores en prácticamente todas las canciones de los Beatles. Por este motivo, McCartney propuso a la viuda de Lennon, Yoko Ono, que las canciones en que él fuera el autor principal fueran firmadas como McCartney-Lennon, petición que fue denegada por ésta en más de una ocasión.
Una de las canciones más emblemáticas de McCartney con los Beatles es la balada "Yesterday", la canción más versionada de la historia de la música. El exbeatle Paul McCartney se sometió en secreto el pasado otoño a una operación de corazón y al parecer se ha recuperado bien, afirma hoy el diario Daily Mirror.El músico, de 65 años, fue sometido en una clínica privada a una angioplastia coronaria para permitir un mejor flujo de sangre, asegura el periódico sensacionalista británico.De acuerdo con el Daily Mirror, durante meses han circulado conjeturas sobre presuntos problemas coronarios del exbeatle."Paul sentía que algo no estaba bien y por suerte buscó ayuda profesional [...]. Afortunadamente, la operación salió bien y Paul se siente muy bien", ha afirmado un amigo del cantante citado por el diario.Macca, como los británicos llaman a Paul McCartney, y su exmujer, Heather Mills, de 39 años, deberán tomar parte en una vista que se celebrará el mes próximo en el Tribunal Superior de Londres para establecer los términos de su divorcio.

Para Enero de 1969 la separación de los Beatles era inminente, pero Paul convence a sus compañeros para hacer un nuevo proyecto " Let It Be ", un documental sobre un día de trabajo en los estudios de grabación. Pero la relación entre ellos era tan tensa que al final Paul concluiría dicho proyecto en solitario unos meses más tarde.

Como todo el mundo sabe, Paul McCartney murió en un accidente de tráfico en Noviembre de 1966. Hay gente que dice que esto es un mito, que lo que realmente ocurrió es que tuvo un accidente de motocicleta el 26 de Diciembre de 1965, en el que se rompió el labio y un diente. ¿Quien niega esto? Un accidente no quita al otro. ¿Que ocurrió después de su muerte? Los Beatles y su discográfica se negaban a desaparecer. Debían buscar un sustituto de Paul, e hicieron un concurso de "Parecidos de Paul" en Invierno del 66. Este concurso no tuvo oficialmente ganador.... pero sí que lo tuvo: se llamaba William Campbell, y a partir de ese momento fué el sustituto de Paul a cambio de una considerable suma de dinero. Desde ese momento los Beatles dejaron pistas en todos sus posteriores discos, en recuerdo al fallecido Paul McCartney, y para que los fans nos hiciéramos poco a poco a la idea de que Paul estaba muerto.

El día 6 de Junio de 1957, Paul fue con unos amigos a la reunión social que se organizó en los jardines de la iglesia St. Peter y allí estaba tocando John Lennon, Paul quedo impresionado por su forma de tocar. En el transcurso de la velada un amigo de ambos los presento y John pudo comprobar que el joven Paul tocaba la guitarra muy bien, por lo que pasados unos días Paul formo a ser parte del grupo Quarry Men.

BIOGRAFÍA DE PAUL MCCARTNEY
James Paul McCartney nació el 18 de Junio de 1942 en el hospital general de Walton, Liverpool. Sus padres eran Jim McCartney y Mary Patricia, Jim era vendedor de algodón y tocaba en una banda de jazz pero con el conflicto bélico lo tubo que dejar y durante la guerra trabajo en dos sitios diferentes, por el día manejaba un torno y por la noche apagaba los incendios provocados por las bombas alemanas. Su madre trabajaba en un hospital como comadrona y con sus ingresos la familia McCartney vivía bien.Paul era un niño regordete y muy amable con los demás. Cuando contaba con solo dos años sus
padres tuvieron otro hijo llamado Michael y con el que Paul tendría una buena relación ( Estábamos muy unidos, siempre teníamos las visitas de nuestros tíos, catábamos y celebrábamos fiestas ), recuerda Paul.
En uno de los cumpleaños de Paul, su padre le regalo una trompeta pero al comprobar que si tocando la trompeta no podía cantar y el cambio por una guitarra.Pronto descubrió que, aunque era diestro para todo lo demás, era zurdo tocando la guitarra, que resolvió invirtiendo el cordaje de la misma.Pero la repentina muerte de su madre por cáncer de mama fue un golpe emocional y económico para la familia.
Paul ante los demás no exteriorizaba sus sentimientos pero cuando se echaba a dormir en su habitación se ponía a llorar. En el colegio se comportaba de forma educada, tanto con los profesores como con los compañeros, ( absolutamente natural, bastante extraordinario y completamente irresistible )recuerda una profesora. En dicho colegio Paul conoció a George, los dos tenían en común una obsesión guitarrística uniéndoles una buena amistad. Siempre iban juntos en el autobús al colegio y en sus ratos libres se juntaban en la casa de George para tocar.
El día 6 de Junio de 1957, Paul fue con unos amigos a la reunión social que se organizó en los jardines de la iglesia St. Peter y allí estaba tocando John Lennon, Paul quedo impresionado por su forma de tocar. En el transcurso de la velada un amigo de ambos los presento y John pudo comprobar que el joven Paul tocaba la guitarra muy bien, por lo que pasados unos días Paul formo a ser parte del grupo Quarry Men.
Más tarde, el 13 de Marzo de 1958 George Harrison amigo y compañero de colegio de Paul se unió al grupo. Conseguirían algunas actuaciones, sobre todo en Hamburgo, pero el gran salto a la fama estaba a punto de llegar, cuando el 18 de Agosto de 1962 Ringo Starr ingresa en el grupo para tocar la batería, John, Paul y George ya habían grabado su primer single y ya con los cuatro componentes definitivos el éxito llego.El 11 de Enero de 1963 se publicaría " Please, Please Me " su primer número uno mundial. Pero de entre todas las canciones que compusieron los Beatles cabe destacar una de las que compuso Paul " Yesterday ", pues muchos críticos musicales consideran la mejor balada de todos los tiempos y por si esto es poco, también es la más versionada de la historia con más de tres mil interpretaciones.
Otro hecho relevante en la vida de Paul fue cuando en Junio de 1967 los Beatles graban el LP " Sgt. Pepper´s Lonely Hearts Club Band " considerado como la cumbre " Beat " y que marcaría un hito en la historia de la música.
Paul participo directamente en la grabación del álbum, dirigiendo a una orquesta de cuarenta músicos de conservatorio. Paradójicamente, él, que no tenía formación musical alguna, alcanzaba la aureola del mejor compositor " sinfónico " de nuestros días y también bautizado como " El Mozart del s. XX ".
En 1969 Paul viaja a Washington a la convención de la Capitol, donde anuncia el lanzamiento de su próximo disco, bajo el sello Apple.Y durante esta convención conoce a Linda Eastman, hija de uno de los directores del bufete Eastman & Eastman, firma que fue contratada para velar por los intereses de Apple en EE.UU. Linda estaba divorciada y tenia una hija de su anterior matrimonio, por lo no parecía que la relación con Paul llegase a ser algo serio. Pero en Agosto de ese mismo año Paul rompe su relación con su novia de siempre Jane Asher y el 12 de Marzo de 1969
Paul se casa con Linda Eastman en Marylebone Register Office, de Londres.Para Enero de 1969 la separación de los Beatles era eminente, pero Paul convence a sus compañeros para hacer un nuevo proyecto " Let It Be ", un documental sobre un día de trabajo en los estudios de grabación. Pero la relación entre ellos era tan tensa que al final Paul concluiría dicho proyecto en solitario unos meses más tarde.Let It Be obtuvo un Oscar a la mejor canción de la película en 1970, premio que fue a recoger Paul en solitario, de algún modo se lo merecía. Y en Abril de 1970 Paul anuncia en una rueda de prensa la separación de los Beatles.
Ya en solitario Paul grabaría su primer disco con Linda, con el nombre " McCartney " , formó el grupo " Wings " con el que recorrió casi toda Europa.En 1977 el Ministro para las Artes del Reino Unido le obsequia con una condecoración en rodio, un metal raro, para proclamarle el compositor con mayor éxito de la historia.De su matrimonio con Linda, Paul tendría dos hijas " Mary y Sheila " pero la mayor es Heather, hija de Linda de su anterior matrimonio.
Ya disuelto el grupo " Wings ", Paul canto a dúo con Michael Jackson y Stevie Wonder, y dirigió y protagonizo la película " Give my regards to Broad Street ".En una cita de 1992, Paul declaró que: " Dentro de cien años, la música de los Beatles se escuchará del mismo modo que escuchamos a Mozart ".En 1997 Paul es nombrado " Sir Paul McCartney " cuya ceremonia fue ofrecida en el Palacio de Buckingham, pero toda la alegría que pudiera tener Paul por esta condecoración se iría al traste un año más tarde con la muerte de su esposa Linda Eastman por cáncer, con el que estuvo luchando durante un año para erradicarlo sin éxito.
